Morning sunlight seeps down the Western face of the basin, pushing the shadows across the valley as another day begins. The smoke that seemed likely to roll in the night before has mostly cleared out, but a bit of haze still hangs in the air. On the ridgeline, almost in the center of the picture, you can see the low point, Mather Pass.
