My gear is packed, I'm full of oatmeal (you may have already suspected as much), and ready for adventure. My intention is to hike to the end of Lower Palisade Basin, which begins just over that notch in the far end of this here Upper Palisade Basin. Though early, the air is warm enough that t-shirt and shorts are completely comfortable. The shadows cast by the Palisades are a nice dramatic touch to an already dramatic scene.
