By 7PM, the wind started to shift and blow up canyon from the West, carrying with it a thick plume of smoke from the distant Sequoia fire. You can see it here, just after the sun dropped behind the mountain, moving up the canyon. It was ominous and it made me wonder what was happening in the world beyond Kings Canyon. Just how far away was this fire...?
