Having walked around to the far side of my own personal lake, I seized a rare opportunity to take a picture. My tent is sitting just behind one of those trees on the far shore. At the right-hand edge of the picture, at ridgeline, you can make out Pinchot Pass. A question comes to mind as I look at this picture: Why didn't I just stay in this beautiful place for a few days?
