As on the previous two mornings, this day began with a generous helping of uphill. By this time I'd
discovered the boot blunder, but as no significant damage had occurred, I decided to continue. It
would have required something pretty traumatic to get me to turn back, in any case.
This picture shows a really gorgeous alpine meadow, as seen from the trail, with Mount Cedric Wright in
the background. The far edge of the meadow drops off steeply down to Twin Lakes, one of our campsites
from last Summer. This kind of meadow is very spongey and deep, and you can just about sense that from
the way it looks.
